Christina Hamlin and Meryl Wright (working in partnership)

Set up in 2003 after graduating from Plymouth College of Art and Design, Christina Hamlin and Meryl Wright design and make kiln formed glass art aimed at the gallery market. Our partnership is building a good reputation for producing high quality, original and exciting art glass to a professional standard

Using bullseye and artista desag art glasses exclusively for their vibrance, clarity and depth of colour, we design and create glass wall panels, standing panels and open forms. Particularly successful are our wall panels, mounted on board and ready to hang.

We use the inherent characteristics of glass, its potential fluidity, fragility, colour, reflectivity and movement, layering the glass to provide texture, colour and depth, heating and holding at various temperatures to control the movement. Our inspiration is drawn essentially from water- all forms, all states- using a marine palette our work creates a visual reference that captures the constant momentum found on our shoreline. Primarily non-functional our work relies on the need to surround ourselves with art for stimulation, inspiration and contemplation.
